Two Stairways

I find my mind is continually looking up two stairways. If I had to name them, I guess one would be called “What if”, and the other “What is”.

The steps of “What if” are ALL my imaginations, of the past, present, and future circumstances that I ponder throughout the day. They are predictions of a possible outcome. And if I let them, they compile upon each other, like a stairway to nowhere, except for a view of the uncertain. But also, if I let them…they can change the very steps of my day, (how I perceive myself, or others, or how I react to real life circumstances). Their Whisperings conspire against me.

The steps of “What is”, are the thoughts of my current life circumstances, and those within it. They are built upon the stairway that leads to the open gate of my Tomorrows.

One Truth separates these Two Stairways.

“For I hear many whispering…they conspire against me.” But I Trust in You Lord; I say, “You are my God, MY TIMES ARE IN YOUR HANDS…Psalm 31:13,-15

When I Truly believe in my heart, “My Times are In His Hands”, then ALL my wrestling thoughts of “what if”, finally begin to fade away and I can rest knowing He is in control of my “what is”.

And the Only Gateway of “what is”…to become.
