Into The Heavens

“What’s in a word?” Dad asked.

It was the question I was confronted with this morning as I wondered, “Do any of my words have value worth sharing, especially in a blog post to all of you?” Dad had asked me that question nearly 45 years ago, when I was a frustrated 20 year old. Hearing his voice within me this morning only proved, once more, what he was trying to show me then. Our words to each other are worth…..

….Everything.

“… I tell you, everyone will have to give account on the day of judgement for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words, you will be condemned.” Matt. 12:36,37

I have only two possessions that will live on into the heavens…my spirit…and my words.

So when I imagine the value of our words (the good and the bad) living forever, it’s a very sobering question…

“What’s in a word?”

Everything!
