Class In Session

Class is ALWAYS in session at the School of Life.

That’s not a thought that stirs up happy memories for me because, as a boy, I lived for “summer break”.

But when I put into perspective, this very brief moment in Time called “My Life”, is just a blink in Eternity, BUT it’s within this brief moment where I will choose how I spend Eternity…I become Grateful for class ALWAYS being in session.

I need to “Pass”.

I need to get this right.

When I was in school, the one thing I dreaded the most were “pop quizzes”. Looking back, I did what many of us did: crammed for a test. And when it was over, I mostly forgot what I crammed for. Hence, the reason for “pop quizzes”. They revealed what I learned for a day, or what I learned for Life.

So, in the School of Life….EVERY test is a “pop quiz”!

I’ve told my sons, “When God gives you a test, you’ll never know when you’re taking it…until it’s over. They’re always “pop quizzes”, because it’s the only way YOU will know what’s in your Heart and not just your Head. And in Life’s tests, to survive, you need to answer instinctively…it needs to be ‘second nature’!”

“And if you’re like me, you rarely pass the first time. But the Teacher is full of Mercy…He’ll keep giving you each test, until you Pass!!”

I pray the more we’re tested, the more we Pass the first time. Because when you pass His tests the first time, it feels like it wasn’t even a test…. “It was just Second Nature”. Amen.
