Street Lights

Whenever I fly at night, I love looking out the window when we begin our descent, seeing the peaceful illumination that each street light gives off.

My mother loved lamp lighting in her home, (never ceiling lights). She’d say, “A lamp shade hides the bulb so you can enjoy more the light it produces around a room, making the room more beautiful.”

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven.” Matt. 5:16

After our first date, Rachelle and I took a walk around the neighborhood with Julie and Michael.

It was just after dusk and all the street lights were coming on. But some, as we walked under them, turned back off. “You must give off a light that caused them to turn back off,” she said to me. I've known ever since that first date....it was HER light that night, not mine. She is a lamp in my Life. To this day, her light brightens my path to make my life more beautiful.

More peaceful.

We all have had people come into our lives, and with their good deeds, have “illuminated” our path and made our life more beautiful.

If they are still in your life…thank them.

If they no longer are…thank God, for bringing them to you when you needed it most.
